Mendelssohn Romances sans paroles Op 53 for Oboe and Piano
Walter considers the Mendelssohn "Romances Sans Paroles" as "little gems, miniature miracles of inventiveness and sensibility," and believes them to be especially suitable for adaptation. Certainly, in his arrangements for oboe and piano, they add greatly to the "relatively poor Romantic repertoire" for the instrument. This fourth volume covers Romances 19 through 24.
